Citrus juice is any juice that can be extracted from any given citrus fruit.[1] The most commonly consumed type of citrus juice is orange juice.

Juice can be extracted from both the flesh of the fruit, or from the zest. The latter can add additional flavour, particularly when used in cooking.[2]

Types of citrus juices include:

  • Orange juice-juice extracted from oranges and is the most commonly consumed citrus juice in the world.
  • Lime juice-juice extracted from lime and due to its high acidity levels, it is most commonly used for the seasoning of various meats.
  • Lemon juice-juice extracted from lemon and like limes, it is most commonly used for the seasoning of meats,commonly used as a substitute for limes.
  • Mandarin Juice- juice extracted from mandarin oranges and is commonly consumed in the caribbean region.
