New Getter Robo (Japanese title 新ゲッターロボ, Shin Getta Robo") is an original video animation released in 2004 by Bandai Visual, based on the manga and anime series Getter Robo, created by Go Nagai and Ken Ishikawa. The series, however, owes much more to the manga than the 1970s animated adaptation, with designs closer to those of Nagai's original art, and some scenes lifted directly from the manga. It is a remake of the original manga with slight variations, of which the protagonists must battle against mysterious creatures called the Oni.
