Wikipedia:Sexual content

Definition

For the purposes of this policy, "sexual content" includes media depicting actual or simulated sexually explicit conduct involving one or more persons. This includes:

• vaginal, anal, and oral sexual activity;
• non-penetrative sex, including masturbation;

Where it is unclear whether an image depicts such conduct, the community will use its discretion. Partial or total nudity, by itself, is generally not considered sexual content.

Prohibited content

In addition to illegal, 'out of scope' or otherwise prohibited by policy media, the following types of sexual content are prohibited on the English Wikipedia:

Content without appropriate consent

Media hosted at Wikimedia Commons is subject to their Photographs of identifiable people policy, a guideline that considers defamation, personality rights, privacy rights, ridicule, unfairly obtained photos, and photos that unreasonably intrude into a subject's private or family life. In addition, all sexual content used on the English wikipedia must contain an assertion of the informed consent of all parties.

If you find a sexual photo of yourself posted here without your consent, you do not need to go through the usual process to propose deletion of the file: you may contact the WMF directly and request an "office action" to remove the image quickly and completely without public discussion.

Inappropriate content

Sexual content should be notable, provide useful information to the reader, and, at the very least, be interesting. Multiplication of images and informational content beyond a rational need for information is inappropriate. Wikipedia is not an amateur pornography site. Graphic images such as those listed at MediaWiki:Bad image list should be used to illustrate the subject they depict not in unexpected places.

Images with a sexual subtext

Images which have nominally illustrate some subject, but have a sexual subtext can be inappropriate.
