Gaspare D'Amico was a bootlegger and high mafia figure in the DeCavalante crime family.

Background

D'Amico was born in Philadelphia in 1901.

Bosses

The New Jersey mafia had 4 family bosses each boss ran a crew, D'Amico ran the Newark crew at In Newark, New Jersey. The Reina crew was headed by Gaetano "Tom" Reina. Stefano Badami ran The Masseria Crew and the Elizabeth Crew.

Bootlegging & Gambling

D'Amico ran the familys Bootlegging and Gambling operations throughout the early 1920's.

Vincenzo Troia

Vincenzo Troia a former associate of Salvatore Maranzano conspired to take over the Newark family and he was murdered.

assassination

Two years later in 1937, D'Amico fled the United States after a failed assassination attempt on his life order by Joseph Profaci. The Commission decided to divide up his territory among the Five Families and Badami's Elizabeth family.

Death

D'Amico was finally killed on 1940.
