re-writing articles in sandbox

CornishFourColumns Thanks for the ping regarding the Lucia Fairchild Fuller. My interest in her is her participation in the Chicago World's Fair. Happy to see you have kept that. I am writing you back to mention that there is a segment of editors who do not condone rewriting an article in user sandbox and then moving it. Please see the discussion at Women in Red archives under "Incoming batch of biographies from Wiki Education". It is great that you are working on updating women artists! I don't want you to be alarmed if you get some negative feed back for this technique. You are adding cited material. Go ahead and work in the main space! Best. WomenArtistUpdates (talk) 18:02, 26 February 2021 (UTC) PS Think about becoming involved in Women in Red...We are an active community with a variety of ongoing events.[reply]

Hi WomenArtistUpdates. This is just to let you know that C4C is using this space to learn how to edit in WP and putting it to good effect at the same time. I expect that as the editor becomes more confident with the mechanics of editing that person will be more likely to edit in the main space. The plan is to bring sections across, piecemeal, so that each step can be reviewed, independently. Cheers, HopsonRoad (talk) 20:06, 26 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Added thought: The discussion at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Women in Red/Archive 72#Incoming batch of biographies from Wiki Education appears to be mostly concerned about blending of editorial input from outside the article space. In the case of this sandbox, one editor would be bringing in the revised material from a sandbox. So, provenance will be clear. It's not important to see every copy edit made here, only the substantive result brought across. Cheers, HopsonRoad (talk) 21:38, 26 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Respectfully, three editors are working in this sandbox. Precisely the issue that was raised. WomenArtistUpdates (talk) 16:15, 28 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I am sorry if I messed the process up. I was asked on my talk page to come look at the article, which in my mind means: the article is about ready to go, if you have any finishing touches, go for it.
I got really interested in the content and got pretty involved. I see now that wasn't what was meant in this case.–CaroleHenson (talk) 04:46, 1 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Images

I was wondering what you think of having the images run down the right side of the article so that they can be enjoyed as one read's the article.

I hope I wasn't too heavy handed with copy edits. Feel free to revert something if you don't agree. Other than some copy edits, I moved side comments into a "Notes" section, removed people in "See also" that are already linked in the article, moved the remaining See also up to the Early life and education and added to the intro.

When you are ready, I think the article is ready to copy to the article. The comment for the paste into the article should provide a link to your sandbox.

Great job!–CaroleHenson (talk) 06:45, 28 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I went ahead and move two images inline with content. The remaining two images were not mentioned, so I just added a Gallery heading for those images.–CaroleHenson (talk) 04:41, 1 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
