-On April 26, Jacoby Ellsbury Stole home during the third game against the NY Yankees. Red Sox swept the Yankees in this three-game set to run their winning streak to 10 games.

-On May 6, It was announced that Jerry Remy, of NESN television (Red Sox announcer) was to take time off from his color commentary job because of Cancer Surgery. Dennis Eckersely takes over for the majority of the future months.

-On May 7, By scoring 12 runs without recording an out, the Red Sox set an American League record. They also tied a modern-day Major League record, set by the Brooklyn Dodgers on May 24, 1953, in the eighth inning of a game against the Phillies.
