Antonio Nathaniel Davenport Jr. (born c. 1995),[1] known by his stage name Lil Tony, is an American rapper from Durham, North Carolina, who is serving a life sentence for a 2019 murder.

Career[edit]

Davenport was a member of hip hop group 83 Babies with rappers Set It Off and Young Boss Tevo. Their song "No Cap" was remixed with Rich the Kid and uploaded to the WorldStarHipHop YouTube channel. They signed to his label Rich Forever Music in March 2017. They also cosigned with Migos. The group opened up for Rich The Kid's The World Is Yours 2 tour.[2][3][4] They were featured on Rich Forever 4, a record label compilation album.[5]

The group was named after the Eight Trey Gangster Crips, Davenport's gang; "Eight Trey" sounding similar to "83".[6]

Conviction[edit]

On August 19, 2019, Davenport shot and murdered a nine-year-old child, Z'Yon Person, while injuring an eight-year-old. He fired shots from his burgundy Honda Accord into an SUV.[7] Their motive was to "maintain an increased position in the gang".[8] He was arrested in October.[6]

In March 2020, during an interview with DJ Vlad, Rich the Kid addressed the arrest, saying that the group would still release music.[9]

On July 7, 2022, Davenport, along with Derrick "Smacc" Lamont Dixon Jr. and Dival "Paco" Nygee Magwood—all members of the Eight Trey Gangster Crips, were sentenced to life in prison.[10]
