Draft:Child museum (Chile)

  • Comment: More sources about the Museum. Half of the sources are currently about Obrecht! The museum is closed because of the 2010 earthquake? Add a source for that! Is there any other coverage of the museum in reliable secondary sources (newspapers, academic reports, books, etc.)? Bkissin (talk) 21:11, 26 July 2024 (UTC)

The Children's Museum is located in Quinta Normal Park in the city of Santiago, Chile. It is managed by the Private Corporation for the Dissemination of Science and Technology (Corpdicyt). The museum is designed for children aged 2 to 13 years old.[1]

It is housed in Casa Obrecht, a Victorian-style building inaugurated in 1875[2]. Initially, it was the residence of the French astronomer and engineer Jean Albert Obrecht Hubert,[3] who worked at the National Astronomical Observatory.[4]

The museum began operating in 1985. In 1993, interactive rooms were added. It showcased antique toys, such as dolls, cars, trains, and lead soldiers. It is currently closed due to damage caused by the earthquake of 27 February, 2010.
