《乾隆皇帝半身冬装像》是比较罕见的再现40岁左右的乾隆皇帝半身便服像，他已经蓄有八字胡和长青。该画作的尺寸与材质均符合现存的乾隆时期宫廷油画半身像的规格，应为郎世宁所绘。 根据宫廷传教士的书信可知，乾隆皇帝其实对于过于美化的个人肖像并不推崇，他多次传教士画家提出要注意他左眉的缺陷，要求真实地在画面中体现出来。此外，乾隆皇帝还十分大方地为画家摆造型，画像时，画家与皇帝之间的距离不过一米远。传教士的书信中也提到了皇帝曾穿着便服接见他们，令人称奇，因为皇帝除了头冠上的红丝绸顶子别无其他特殊标记。 该画作说明了乾隆皇帝被画像时的真实情况。尽管贵为一国之君，其画像无可避免地被要求体现庄严肃穆以符合统治者身份地位，但皇帝的个人好更能决定最终的绘画表现。 |
