Once a pretty grungy place, that served great working man's breakfasts to the marine industry workers around it, the Cherry has become gentrified and genteel serving the Sunday morning bicycle crowd. It was once a former Dominion Bank building, built in 1920. But better recycled than dead. Soon, if it survives condo-ization, it will serve the Pan Am Games crowd in Toronto's Portlands.
