DescriptionFirst Baptist Church of Clarence aka Hunt's Corners Baptist Church, Clarence, New York - 20201015.jpg
English: First Baptist Church of Clarence, 10790 Hunts Corners Road at Salt Road, Clarence, New York, October 2020. Built in 1877, this stately brick church sports an exuberant Romanesque Revival style that comes through most fully on the tower, a stout square structure with corbelling under the spire in a round-arch pattern to match those crowning the windows below. Even more interestingly, attached to the main tower at the far southwest corner of the building is another tower, smaller and octagonal topped with a tent roof and pierced by narrow windows. The rose window is small, in keeping with the style, and sports tracery in an unusual geometric pattern. First Baptist Church has a long history: it was organized in 1837, and services were held in a small wooden church on the same site until the construction of the present building.
