English: Lower Hook Wood The name of the field according to the 1842 tithe map. Neither Yeakell & Gardner's 1783 map or the first OS map of 1813 show any sign of a wood here suggesting a grubbing had occurred quite some time back but the land retained the name. Upper Hook Wood is the name of the field to the south out of shot to the left. Hooks Acre is the name of the house on the right.
