Description
English: Marius Barbeau transcribing, in his office in Ottawa, the melody of a traditional song recorded on phonograph cylinder. More than 5000 songs have been recorded by Barbeau. His files contain the lyrics of some 10,000 other songs.
Français : Marius Barbeau transcrivant, dans son bureau d'Ottawa, la mélodie d'une chanson traditionnelle qu'il a enregistrée sur le terrain sur cylindre phonographique. Plus de 5000 chansons ont ainsi été enregistrées par Barbeau. Ses dossiers contiennent les paroles de quelque 10 000 autres chansons.
