Summary

Description
English: The map illustrates the remaining portion of an Indian trail along the Big Sur Coast in California that later became a pioneer wagon road. The trail was improved by Spanish and American ranchers and settlers in the late 1800s. Much of the road was replaced in the early 1900s by California Highway 1.

The remaining 10.2 miles (16.4 km) portion of the original Old Coast Road. It connects to Highway 1 on the north at Bixby Creek Bridge and on the south near Andrew Molera State Park..
