English: On 22 March, Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison announced a closure of places of social gathering, including registered and licensed clubs, licensed premises in hotels and bars, entertainment venues, including but not restricted to cinemas, casinos and nightclubs and places of worship, as well as gyms, swimming pools as well as other places of leisure or recreation. These measures were put in place to stop the spread of the COVID-19 global pandemic, which arrived in Australia in the city of Melbourne, Victoria on 25 January 2020.
