DescriptionWaiea, Ala Moana Boulevard, Kakaako, Honolulu, HI.jpg
English: Built between 2014 and 2016, this Contemporary high-rise condominium was designed by James KM Cheng Architects Inc. and WCIT Architecture, Inc. in the rapidly evolving Kakaako district of Honolulu. The 36-story tower features an irregular footprint with an undulating curtain wall on the Kamakee Street facade that is reminiscent of draped fabric, clean-line orthogonal balconies at the corners and on the facade facing the interior of the block, a podium with concrete walls, floors, and columns framing balconies and window walls, a parking garage podium along Auahi Street with a terrace on the roof, and gardens with a decorative sculptural fountain at the base of the building along the street. The building is one of many recently completed or under construction residential towers on the site of the old Ward Village Shopping Center the rapidly changing Kakaako and Ala Moana area of Honolulu.
