Panorama
[edit]I don't see it mentioned anywhere in the image summary, but this is a 360-degree panorama, correct? Robert K S 02:11, 15 September 2007 (UTC)
It would have to be, because we are with in the Milky Way. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 12.216.162.113 (talk) 23:09, 18 September 2007 (UTC)
If you click on the nasa link in the summary section of the image tab, you'll find a description of the setting, including the fact that this image is indeed 360 degrees, the upper portions stretched to make a rectangle, and even an explanation of how the rock ended up where it is. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.200.99.51 (talk) 03:16, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
Moving rocks
[edit]It isn't mentioned either why the rock on the lower center right has moved on it's own. The drag mark is clearly visible. Is this due to some glaciologic cause? Cuyaya 09:55, 19 October 2007 (UTC)
This is also shown on the 'sailing rocks' article. Which only means it is part of this phaenomena.--71.162.78.231 (talk) 15:32, 19 November 2009 (UTC)
Is this an accurate depiction?
[edit]Not the shape of the panorama, the actual features of it. Like, is there a time when you can look up and actually see the galaxy's arm to the point where you could distinguish it as two obvious continual bands of light with a much emptier dark spot in the middle, in a way that was really obvious that that part of the sky is different enough to make note of?
Sorry for the confusing wording but its a confusing picture. Ive never seen the sky look anything like that. 74.132.249.206 (talk) 11:02, 9 August 2011 (UTC)
Panomara of the Milky Way is Upside Down
[edit]In the "Progress in the 1970s" section, the image appears upside down when you view the enlarged image at this url: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/7/70/Deathvalleysky_nps_big.jpg
I don't know how to fix this since I'm not very good at editing wikipedia pages. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.71.27.54 (talk) 04:22, 11 November 2016 (UTC)
