Bharatiya Janta Party candidate Rajnikant Mani Tripathi won in last Assembly election of 2017 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Elections defeating Bahujan Samaj Party candidate Rajesh Pratap Rao "Banti Bhaiya " by a margin of 48,103 votes.[4]
