In fact, the low thermal conductivity of engine oils is not a desired feature. There is ongoing research to improve thermal conductivity of engine oils (https://thermtest.com/why-the-thermal-properties-of-engine-oils-are-important-for-maintaining-a-healthy-car-engine).
