Taiwan Travel Permit is a travel document issued by the National Immigration Administration. This card-size biometric document is issued for its bearers, Chinese citizens residing in the mainland, to travel from the mainland to the Taiwan for personal, business, or other purposes.[2][3][non-primary source needed]
When bearers travel to Taiwan from ports in mainland China (besides Chongqing, Nanchang or Kunming), they need to have an endorsement on their Taiwan Travel Permit cards.[4][2][5] In addition, they need a Taiwan Entry Permit to enter Taiwan.[6] Chinese citizens do not need to have a Taiwan Travel Permit if they are traveling to Taiwan directly from overseas.[7]
