Date issue

[edit]

Shouldn't "March 1st, 1775" be 1776 (based on the other info in the article)? AnonMoos 21:08, 3 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, thanks. Kevin Myers 22:07, March 25, 2006 (UTC)

I've tried to find a reference to "Fort Nassau" and have failed. Could this be referring to Fort Stanley or Fort D'Arcy, or is Fort Nassau no longer in existence?Ealtram (talk) 18:35, 18 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to one external link on Battle of Nassau. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it. Hello, just wanted to let you know that I've copy-edited this article of the Battle of Nassau by removing some commas and improper verb tense. Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by Unholydoom993 (talkcontribs) 03:35, 28 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

It's a typo for "Field". Magic♪piano 01:27, 26 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Dates

[edit]

The first sentence and the infobox have dates that do not sync up. Did the raid last 10 days or just 2? howcheng {chat} 08:13, 2 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The information—about the battle—leads to the conclusion that the direct military clash between the two forces was limited to March 3 and 4. It seems that the dates "March 1–10" had referred to the duration of the entire operation, and not to the battle itself (although the American forces did arrive near Nassau on March 1, they did not depart until "two weeks" had passed, so the March 10 date's provenance is uncertain). I have thus changed the date in the lead sentence of the article, so that it conforms to a more strict interpretation of the meaning of "battle" and I have removed the "contradiction" tag. catsmoke (talk) 08:07, 18 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
