Incorrect sourcing-- needs remediated

[edit]

Hello fellow Wikipedians! I stumbled across this article and read, with interest, the following claim: "Research shows that 43 percent of ex-Mormon left due to unmet spiritual needs." I followed the citation to the original JSTOR article, read it, and, to my disappointment, found that this claim is nowhere in the sourced article.

I propose that the original claim be removed and replaced with the following claim from this article, and quoted on page 14 of this article for those behind the paywall, with the claim that the chief, non-exclusive reasons for disaffiliation from Mormonism can be divided into ten categories: (1) maturation; (2) irrelevance; (3) conflict in beliefs; (4) life style conflict; (5) interpersonal conflict; (6) unmet spiritual needs; (7) unmet personal needs; (8) policy conflict; (9) unmet familial needs; and (10) unmet intermarriage needs.

Given no resistance to this, I will accomplish the edit within 24 hours of this post.

Feedback welcome! - Briyzzie Briyzzie (talk) 08:42, 27 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
