Updates

[edit]

I have some updates and corrections for this article. These are all pretty straightforward biographical details, but since I'm a paid Wikipedian-in-Residence of NIOSH, I'm listing the changes here.

  • In the infobox:
    • |known_for = Director of NIOSH, Chief of Cal/OSHA
    • |education = MD, Loyola University; MPH, Harvard; JD, UCLA; LLM and MBA, George Washington University
    • |work_institutions = National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, California Division of Occupational Safety and Health, University of California
  • Add to end of lead: "In 2011, Howard became the Administrator of the World Trade Center Health Program. In 2016, he became the first person to be appointed to a third 6-year term as NIOSH director.[1]"
  • Add archive URL for Ref 2: https://web.archive.org/web/20140117060537/https://www.hhs.gov/news/press/2009pres/09/20090903d.html
  • Education section: change "Master of Occupational Health" to "Master of Public Health" and add to the list "Master of Business Administration in Healthcare Management, also from George Washington University, in 2016.[1]"
  • Department of Industrial Relations, California section: change "beginning in 1991" to "from 1991 to 2002.[1]"
  • World Trade Center responders section: add at end of paragraph, "With the enactment of the James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Act, Howard in 2011 became Administrator of the World Trade Center Health Program.[1][2]"
  • Reappointment at NIOSH section: add at end of paragraph, add "In 2016, Howard became the first person to be appointed to a third 6-year term as NIOSH director.[1]"
