– Clear candidate for a primary topic, since Left 4 Dead 2 is at least as well known and well regarded as the original if not moreso, and it's a franchise with merchandise and comics. ZXCVBNM (TALK) 22:29, 24 November 2018 (UTC)

- Opposed: Normally the franchise is called (franchise) or (series) such as for Halo or Doom. I don't see this proposal clarifying anything IMO. Hervegirod (talk) 00:07, 27 November 2018 (UTC)
- Oppose - Two video games belonging to the main series are not sufficient enough to make the series the primary or "broad concept" topic. Even DLCs, comic book, and spin-offs don't help very much, no matter how many they are. The very first game of the series still qualifies as the primary topic; it received awards and has only one main sequel as of date, which didn't earn awards. [edit]I don't think we need a whole section dedicated to a meme on a fan wiki, especially one that hasn't been acknowledged by Valve or implemented in the game outside of modded content. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2405:DA40:1107:6C00:FDDD:8AE5:B155:F585 (talk) 08:35, 2 November 2021 (UTC)

– So, surely we can agree that since the franchise itself is absolutely notable (per the recent AfD), it should be the primary topic. The assertion in the previous discussion that the first game in the series is more primary is a bit absurd; the pageviews show L4D2 getting significantly more views than the first game. If there is any primary topic it would be the franchise that contains the two games within it and other related media. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ (ᴛ) 15:01, 8 February 2022 (UTC)
- Oppose per the attempted move from 2018. The first game still is more recognized than the franchise. --Masem (t) 15:08, 8 February 2022 (UTC)
- Oppose. The franchise is notable, but it doesn't automatically more prominent than any individual games just because it "contains" them. It's not Final Fantasy-level notable. Neocorelight (Talk) 14:04, 10 February 2022 (UTC)
