The Generali and Phare towers (in Paris - La Défense) have been approved, not only proposed! Thanks to take that into account ;-)—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 217.128.188.116 (talkcontribs).

Rankings

[edit]

Shouldn't the buildings with the same height have the same ranking numbers? For example four structures with height 110 m and rankings 41, 42, 42 and 43. I think they should have same ranking. And why #74, Tour Cristal - Front de Seine has only 95 meters height, while four above and two below has 100 m height? And #94, Tour Franklin has 120 m, 26 m more than #93! 82.141.95.131 (talk) 02:37, 9 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Eiffel tower

[edit]

Is there a specific reason the Eiffel tower is not included in the list of tallest structures? While not a building, it should be included in a list concerning "buildings and structures in the Paris region". — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.95.172.153 (talk) 22:01, 19 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Uploading images of skyscrapers from the French Wikipedia

[edit]

Would it okay to import skyscraper images in the Paris region from the French Wikipedia to the English Wikipedia? We are not using it for commercial use. 2600:100C:A202:5967:D1B2:1DC5:9B85:B7F8 (talk) 02:37, 26 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Can we use them on the articles for the skyscrapers themselves here with the w:fr:Utilisateur:Le plus bot? 2600:100C:A202:5967:D1B2:1DC5:9B85:B7F8 (talk) 02:40, 26 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Not necessarily. French intellectual property legislation is very different from common-law countries' legislation, and in particular the person holding French intellectual property rights owns "moral rights" which last forever and cannot be given away, even by testament (in French, perpétuel, imprescriptible et inaliénable); at the death of the original holder these rights necessarily pass to the deceased's natural heirs. The (French) author and his natural heirs might be expected to watch the French Wikipedia but certainly not all Wikipedias in all languages so there is no automatic right to import a non-free image from the French Wikipedia to some other Wikipedia such as the English-language one. There are some very restrictive exceptions to author's rights, I don't know them in detail, but the precise reason why, how and where they apply needs to be mentioned on the image page itself, otherwise it will sooner or later be removed.
For details, see fr:Liberté de panorama#En France, fr:Droit d'auteur and fr:Droit moral en droit français. — Tonymec (talk) 19:55, 26 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
