GA Review[edit]

Hi, I am reviewing this article for GA. This seems to be a very interesting shark. I have a few questions.
- Does this species ever intersect with divers? I get the idea that although it is "abundant", it is not seen alive that much. There is a remoteness about the observations.
- "These photophores are thought to function in counter-illumination, which camouflages the shark against predators, and perhaps also in social interactions." - it camouflages in social interactions? and "Its bioluminescence may also serve a social function, given that the pattern is species-specific." I don't understand the social function.
- Its bioluminescence serves as camouflage and maybe also in social interactions (I'll rephrase the sentence to make this clearer). No one knows exactly what those social functions might be (species recognition? finding mates? coordinating schools?) but it is a reasonable supposition given that these patterns are species-specific (which they wouldn't have to be if their only function was camouflage). -- Yzx (talk) 19:57, 2 July 2009 (UTC)
Another fine article. —Mattisse (Talk) 19:50, 2 July 2009 (UTC)
