Note 2: When it is April fool's day, DO NOT TROUT ME as an April Fool's joke. In the past I had a trout button which I removed due to persistent abuse of it. If you trout me on April Fool's Day I will revert you and ask that you do not do it again.
Note 3: Any comments here regarding a vandal or from a blocked user that I was WP:AGF will be archived once I ensure there is nothing left to say per WP:DENY.
Note 4: If I remove your comment and you add it back, I will revert you and warn you for doing so. If you do it again after that then I will report you for harassment. This crap has gone on for way too long and I've become less and less tolerant of it. Removing comments from my own talk page is perfectly allowable per WP:OWNTALK.
Semi-retirement

It's about time I officially declared myself semi-retired. I don't edit nearly as much as I used to anymore, mostly because I don't have the time to do so, but also because I'm simply not nearly as interested in editing Wikipedia anymore. Don't worry, I'm not leaving forever (yet, we'll see what happens). In addition I'm starting college in a few weeks so my time will be even more limited because of my job. I will retire from being a mentee (tho anyone I'm currently helping can still ask me for help) but will continue with the Counter-Vandalism Unit Academy. I enjoyed my time here and meeting all these people. Will I ever return to editing Wikipedia full time? Who knows. Updates for editors
- On wikis with the Translate extension enabled, users will notice that the FuzzyBot will now automatically create translated versions of categories used on translated pages. [1]
- View all 29 community-submitted tasks that were resolved last week. For example, the submitted task to use the SecurePoll extension for English Wikipedia's special administrator election was resolved on time. [2]
Updates for technical contributors
In 1.44.0-wmf-2, the logic of Wikibase functiongetAllStatementschanged to behave likegetBestStatements. Invoking the function now returns a copy of values which are immutable. [3]- Wikimedia REST API users, such as bot operators and tool maintainers, may be affected by ongoing upgrades. The API will be rerouting some page content endpoints from RESTbase to the newer MediaWiki REST API endpoints. The impacted endpoints include getting page/revision metadata and rendered HTML content. These changes will be available on testwiki later this week, with other projects to follow. This change should not affect existing functionality, but active users of the impacted endpoints should verify behavior on testwiki, and raise any concerns on the related Phabricator ticket.

- Admins and users of the Wikimedia projects where Automoderator is enabled can now monitor and evaluate important metrics related to Automoderator's actions. This Superset dashboard calculates and aggregates metrics about Automoderator's behaviour on the projects in which it is deployed. - @TheSmartWikiOne: Heya! As you may be able to see on my userpage I am semi-retired. While I can teach you it would be extremely slow. Also you don't have very many edits yet so I suggest you get some more edits and get more involved on Wikipedia before getting into anti-vandalism so that way you understand how Wikipedia works as it will help you in deciding what is and isn't vandalism. ― Blaze WolfTalkblaze__wolf 04:25, 14 November 2024 (UTC)
