Arctic shark

[edit]

Howdy, I wanted to let you know I nominated the page you created, Arctic shark for deletion. The shark you describe in the article is unknown to science, as best as I could find. The taxonomic name you listed is for a Great white shark, however this did not match the description in the article (and arctic shark is not a commonly used synonym). If you have information which I have overlooked, please add it to the article. If you have any questions, feel free to write a note on the bottom of my talk page, User_talk:TeaDrinker. Thanks, --TeaDrinker 07:49, 14 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

northern canadian shark

[edit]

thanks for your message regarding the arctic shark. it may have other names just i was not able to find them. also, i used the skark tempplate just waiting for shark experts (i am not one ) to classify it properly.

The Arctic Shark is known to survive in the cold waters of the arctic ocean, it totally amazes me! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Calgarypower (talkcontribs) 07:55, 14 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the note. A good reference on fish in general is FishBase, which lists neither common names you included. Artic shark can be used to describe any shark which lives in the arctic, however it is not a common name for any of them, to the best of my knowledge. The information about the size you added [1] is almost certainly incorrect, as no shark is that long (compare to the largest prehistoric shark, Megalodon, which grew to about 16 meters by some estimates). I think the article is best deleted, but we will see what other people think at the articles for deletion discussion. Thanks, --TeaDrinker 08:06, 14 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

its known as the northern canadian shark we learned about it in school years back. i didnt add any legth, that asshole mitx would put in things as i was just putting hte article together

then within seconds you put the article for delettion because i used another shark template, didnt even give me a second to remove information from the template.

The history of the article indicates this was the last edit before Mitx (talk · contribs) made any edits. If you learned about the shark in school I'm afraid you were misinformed. There is no shark commonly called the northern Canadian shark or arctic shark. The latter could be used to refer to any shark inhabiting the arctic (of which there are many), including the Greenland shark, but the term is not common. If it did refer to a specific shark, the article should be made to be a redirect, however I don't see that to be the case. I still think deletion is the best option. --TeaDrinker 08:33, 14 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of "Ibidfree.com"

[edit]

A page you created, Ibidfree.com, has been tagged for deletion in accordance with our deletion policy. In particular, it meets one or more criteria for speedy deletion; the relevant criterion is:

Blatant advertising. Pages which exclusively promote some entity and which would need to be fundamentally rewritten to become encyclopedic.

Wikipedia has certain standards for inclusion that all articles must meet. Certain types of article must establish the notability of their subject by asserting its importance or significance. Additionally, since Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, content inappropriate for an encyclopedia, or content that would be more suited to somewhere else (such as a directory or social networking website) is not acceptable. See What Wikipedia is not for the relevant policy.

You are welcome to contribute content which complies with our content policies and any applicable inclusion guidelines. However, please do not simply re-create the page with the same content. You may also wish to read our introduction to editing and guide to writing your first article.

If you have any questions, please contact an administrator for assistance. Thank you Loren.wilton (talk) 04:14, 25 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm the administrator who deleted the article in question, having read it and agreed with the assessment of the editor who tagged it -- I noticed that you were asking the editor who tagged it about its disappearance. I'd first suggest that you read Wikipedia:Why was my article deleted?. If you believe that you can present the article in such a way that it doesn't sound like advertising, and it contains third-party expert sources that attest to the notability of the topic, I'll retrieve the material for you and place it in a "sandbox" page for you to work on. You should be aware that a "hangon" tag will not protect an article that obviously violates Wikipedia policy, but use of a "sandbox" page will generally allow you a few weeks to work on an article. If you have any questions about Wikipedia policy or wish the material to be recreated, you can leave me a note. Accounting4Taste:talk 04:29, 25 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Ibidfree.com

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Ibidfree.com requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for web content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you.

WestNet Wireless

[edit]

I moved the page to User:Calgarypower/WestNet Wireless. You will be able to work on it there as much as you like without threat of it being deleted. When it's ready, it can be moved back to the articlespace. For now, it is not ready. GorillaWarfare talk 06:24, 19 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi - it was suddnenly deleted after 15 years . WestNet got much more larger. i m surprised. The user who deleted it seems tobe inconflict with many other users regarding that page and many others. 2002:4230:7AC:0:0:0:4230:7AC (talk) 00:22, 15 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
