Recent edit to Fred Astaire

[edit]

Information icon Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Fred Astaire, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you! Latino (Rome) moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Latino (Rome), does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Sam Sailor 06:17, 2 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Ciao Gianna! I lived in Rome for a year trent'anni fa, ma ho dimenticato quasi tutto della tua bella lingua, purtroppo. If you are looking for articles to translate from Italian to English, the redlinks in Administrative subdivision of Rome would be a place to start. Let me know if I can be of any assistance. You are invited to participate in Italy WikiProject, a WikiProject dedicated to developing and improving articles about Italy.

Information icon Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

I noticed your recent edit to Latinx does not have an edit summary. Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.

Edit summary content is visible in:

Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. You can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → Tick Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. Thanks! - CorbieV 21:24, 1 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. You appear to be repeatedly reverting or undoing other editors' contributions at Latinx. Although this may seem necessary to protect your preferred version of a page, on Wikipedia this is known as "edit warring" and is usually seen as obstructing the normal editing process, as it often creates animosity between editors. Instead of reverting, please discuss the situation with the editor(s) involved and try to reach a consensus on the talk page.

If editors continue to revert to their preferred version they are likely to be blocked from editing Wikipedia. This isn't done to punish an editor, but to prevent the disruption caused by edit warring. In particular, editors should be aware of the three-revert rule, which says that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Edit warring on Wikipedia is not acceptable in any amount, and violating the three-revert rule is very likely to lead to a block. Thank you. - CorbieV 23:34, 1 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

No, CorbieV! You're being dishonest once again. You've been the one reverting and undoing my contributuons. Example: I let Wikipedia users know that "Latine" is the Italian feminine plural of "Latina" as well as the French feminine singular cognate of the French masculine singular "Latin". You botched it up by corrupting my contribution so it read "Latine" is the Italian feminine plural and French feminine singular of "Latina". I took the time to explain to you on the "Latinx" talk page that you were wrong and I was nice enough to teach you the differences between Italian and French masculine and feminine singular and plural cognates. Instead of thanking me, you sent me an unnecessary snide message. Can you say "ingrate"? (Oh, and thanks for letting me know about the more than three reverts in 24 hours. English is not a language I speak very often. So, when I reread my published edits, I catch typos and other grammatical errors, and fix them accordingly.)GiannaZarelli (talk) 12:43, 2 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

This edit warring behavior seems to be a pattern on sister projects as well; witness the page history at es:Latino, for example. They have their rules, and we have ours; please follow WP:BRD and WP:EW on en-wiki. Thanks, Mathglot (talk) 08:17, 2 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Mathglot, I meant everything I said on the Wikipedia Espanol site. Just for the record, click onto the page history at es:Latino (that you had provided in your message) and search Wikipedia Espanol's user Balles2601's talk page. Scroll down to the two messages I left for that Wikipedia user (they're in English for the English-speaking only crowd.) Read them. If they make sense to you, something's been accomplished. If they don't make sense to you...that's not my problem. GiannaZarelli (talk) 12:39, 2 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Some Talk page guidelines and conventions

[edit]

Here are a few guidelines and tips about using article Talk pages which I thought might help:

  • Please sign all of your posts by adding four tildes to the end of your message. See also WP:THREAD for how to use indentation to make for smooth interactions in Talk page discussions.
  • Please don't create a new Talk page section, just to respond to a section created by someone else, as you did here at Talk:Latinx. And especially not just to make a point by creating a contrasting section title to the original; just respond to the issue in the same section. If you have an objection to the original section title, raise it with other editors. New topics should go in new sections.
  • Appeals to ethnic pride as a justification for article changes have no place on Wikipedia. Please don't repeat the type of argument on en-wiki, that you made on es-wiki here and here (with this response by User:Balles2601). Article changes should be justified by reference to Wikipedia policy and guidelines, starting with the WP:FIVEPILLARS.

Please see Wikipedia:Talk page guidelines for further information. Thanks, Mathglot (talk) 08:17, 2 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Mathglot, I did not make an arguement on the es-wki site. Far from it! Check the "here" and "here" which you've included in your message. If you're going to continue stalking, LEARN something by it! I meant everything I said in those two messages to Balles2601. Got it? GiannaZarelli (talk) 13:14, 2 August 2019 (UTC)2601.[reply]

Have you edited before under a different account?

[edit]

Hello, GiannaZarelli,

Have you edited under a different account name before? The pattern of your editing at Latino, Latinx, their respective Talk pages, and your User talk page, looks very similar to me to the editing pattern of Teresa samonetta (talk · contribs) and Lauracerffer (talk · contribs). Have you edited under either of those accounts before? Thanks, Mathglot (talk) 02:14, 6 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Mathglot, Stalking me again are you? You just can't stop, can you? Amazingly, you come across as someone who thinks they own the words "Latino", "Latinx", and associated Latino people's gender, singular and plural words. I'll bet you're not even a Latino person from the Old World or one of the latinoamericanos from the New World. And, you're playing a very out of place Mother Hen over Latino people's grammar.

I'm not Teresa Samonetta. Nor, am I Laura Cerffer. If you really need to play Sherlock Holmes Stalker, look these people up on Facebook or other social media. If you're a man and have a problem with them, take it up with their husbands. As I said on the "Latinx" talk page, there are nice Wikipedia editors and then there are types like you. By the way, my husband's getting fed up with you're staking me. So, STOP IT!GiannaZarelli (talk) 12:02, 6 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
