Username query
[edit]Hi Red-tailed Hawk. Do you think Chennur Public Front is a problem per WP:ORGNAME? It has the ring of being the name of a political party or some other organization, but not sure. FWIW, I'm asking you about it because you're the first admin I came across while scrolling down the page history of WP:UAA. -- Marchjuly (talk) 05:38, 27 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Marchjuly (talk page stalker) Typically, if I'm not sure about usernames like that, I'll leave {{subst:uw-coi-username}} on the talk page. It's for just this sort of situation. I dream of horses (Hoofprints) (Neigh at me) 06:16, 27 November 2024 (UTC)

but stopped and decided to ask for additional input first. -- Marchjuly (talk) 06:18, 27 November 2024 (UTC)

- I'd have to look through the edits closely to actually figure that out. I can't find an organization with that name, though I agree that it's not unreasonable to ask the account what the meaning of their name is by leaving a message on their talk page. If they respond that they are an organization, or that it's a shared account, then we could go from there. Otherwise, I don't think it's a blatant violation unless its edits give the impression that it represents a particular group. The advice given by our fellow equine appreciator is a very reasonable approach, in light of this. — Red-tailed hawk (nest) 07:01, 28 November 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you for taking a look at this. I did follow the advice given above by I dream of horses. -- Marchjuly (talk) 07:10, 28 November 2024 (UTC)
