Marathon Petroleum Corporation Logo Assistance

Hello, I noticed that you have made some edits to the Marathon Petroleum Corporation page in the past and I was hoping you could help me replace the logo that is there now. The logo for branded Marathon retail gas stations was updated recently but not the the corporate one. Yes, this should help.

The logos are very similar but if you'll notice the text in the logo is all caps for the refinery business, while the retail brand uses some lower case letters.

Updates for editors

Stewards can now make global account blocks cause global autoblocks. This will assist stewards in preventing abuse from users who have been globally blocked. This includes preventing globally blocked temporary accounts from exiting their session or switching browsers to make subsequent edits for 24 hours. Previously, temporary accounts could exit their current session or switch browsers to continue editing. This is an anti-abuse tool improvement for the Temporary Accounts project. You can read more about the progress on key features for temporary accounts. [1]
Wikis that have the CampaignEvents extension enabled can now use the Collaboration List feature. This list provides a new, easy way for contributors to learn about WikiProjects on their wikis. Thanks to the Campaign team for this work that is part of the 2024/25 annual plan. If you are interested in bringing the CampaignEvents extension to your wiki, you can follow these steps or you can reach out to User:Udehb-WMF for help.
The text color for red links will be slightly changed later this week to improve their contrast in light mode. [2]

The Lockman Hole

I'm considering making an edit to the Lockman Hole article (Lockman Hole), after a brief mid-video interview with Jay Lockman himself where he voiced a preference for the name "Lockman Window".

I thought it might be a good courteous gesture of this community to change the beginning of the Lockman Hole article to read something more like "The Lockman Hole, or Lockman Window, is an area of the sky in which..."

Necessary Addition, it would at least be worth creating a redirect at Lockman Window (which I've just done). Hi Qwerfjkl, earlier this year you closed the deletion discussion for Category:Incest in Greek mythology. [4] While I was the only editor in that discussion in favour of keeping the category, I don't think others really addressed my argument meaningfully, and I disagree with the category's deletion. I'm not really suggesting that you interpreted consensus incorrectly (I don't think you did), but rather that I don't think there was good reason for deletion. I was unsure whether WP:DELREV was the correct venue for this (as that seems to be for arguing that the closer misinterpreted consensus), so contacting you directly seemed logical. – Michael Aurel (talk) 01:28, 11 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

On wikis with the Translate extension enabled, users will notice that the FuzzyBot will now automatically create translated versions of categories used on translated pages. [5]
View all 29 community-submitted tasks that were resolved last week. For example, the submitted task to use the SecurePoll extension for English Wikipedia's special administrator election was resolved on time. [6]

Updates for technical contributors

In 1.44.0-wmf-2, the logic of Wikibase function getAllStatements changed to behave like getBestStatements. Invoking the function now returns a copy of values which are immutable. [7]
Wikimedia REST API users, such as bot operators and tool maintainers, may be affected by ongoing upgrades. The API will be rerouting some page content endpoints from RESTbase to the newer MediaWiki REST API endpoints. The impacted endpoints include getting page/revision metadata and rendered HTML content. These changes will be available on testwiki later this week, with other projects to follow. This change should not affect existing functionality, but active users of the impacted endpoints should verify behavior on testwiki, and raise any concerns on the related Phabricator ticket.

@Jonesey95, I checked over the rest and they looked good. When I ran the bot, I noticed Talk:Meal, Ready-to-Eat/Archive 1 (Diff ~1257216016) where the replacement actually introduced an error. Any idea how best to handle this? I've made the changes. I think I'll run the batch tomorrow, I just need to do a bit more error checking. Also, one of the replacements uses the search insource:/\[\[User:Yellow Dingo\|\<b style\=\"color:\#FFCC33\">Yellow\<\/b> \<b style\=\"color:brown\">Dingo]]'''/ which returns no results. It appears that the Yellow Dingo signatures have been fixed; they were in a previous batch and it looks like I neglected to remove them from the table after that run. No worries! Are you taking bot requests?

Hey Qwerfjkl, I hope you're well. I was wondering, are you taking bot requests at the moment? I was looking for someone to schedule a regular task, perhaps once a week, to add Template:WikiProject National Football League to relevant pages which don't have it yet. Every now and then I use AWB to do so, and I think it'd be a pretty straight forward and reasonable bot task. I run a recursive search against Category:National Football League players by team, skip talk pages which have "WikiProject National Football League", "NFLproject", "WikiProject NFL", "WPNFL", or "WP NFL", and then manually add the WikiProject template. Assessments typically come later and I wouldn't be asking the bot operator to try to code any of that in, as my primary goal to simply tag them as relevant to the WikiProject. Thankfully, based on Wikipedia:WikiProject National Football League/Assessment, we're pretty good about going back around and adding a rating (though importance not so much), which is why I don't think this task would be in vain. Entirely understandable if you're not interested in taking on another task, but I know you're great at what you do and I appreciate your work, so I thought I'd make this my first stop. Task 31 oddities

This was an odd one. No lint errors at all on the page when it edited, but the bot still changed X to Y, and created an unclosed italics issue due to the closing italics being after the date/time and not matching the sig pattern. Thought it was worth noting that it created an issue in case that's something that can be prevented. If it's just a odd fluke, no big deal.

And I also see that the bot is only fixing half of Timbouctou's signature. It didn't fix the missing closer italics on the Timbouctou userpage link portion: (example 1 and example 2).
