After Thomas.young234 (talk · contribs) was blocked for repeatedly removing the AFD template from Khushi Aur Gham, a hoax article about a purported Indian television program, Ali33480 (talk · contribs) appeared and began creating similar hoax articles (Super Hit Talent Awards and Khushi Ke Saath Gham), using the same writing style (all words capitalized, no punctuation). Admins with privileges to view deleted articles are encouraged to review the deleted Khushi Aur Gham to compare its style to the current Khushi Ke Saath Gham. Ali7867 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) created the article Chahat Khanna (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views), which was speedily deleted as G5, and the username is similar to the previous socks.  Sounds like a duck quacking into a megaphone to me. ─═KlilidiplomusTalk═─ 08:02, 6 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Recreated List of accolades received by Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai as List of Accolades received by Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai (because the first article needed him to be autoconfirmed to create). They were both G5'd as Thomas.young234. Has the poor grammar and spelling of Thomas.young234 (see here). David1217 What I've done 15:48, 8 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I recreated the page List of Accolades received by Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai but i didn't know that this page was created by a banned user and i'm not related to Thomas.young234 (talk · contribs) so just remove my name from sockpuppet of Thomas.young234 and please i'm a good and intrested contributor of Wikipedia so please please please please remove my name from sockpuppetry cast Thank you and sorry i created the page of List of Accolades received by Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai Later I'll be careful but plzzz plzzzzz plzzz plzzzz remove my name ToMaS786 (talk) 15:55, 8 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I'm guessing that Fineuser = Thomas.young234. Ali99911 (talk · contribs), who is a confirmed sock of Thomas.young234, and (I think) created the first incarnation of List of accolades received by Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, made that same "plzzz" message on his talk page. David1217 What I've done 16:21, 8 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I don't understand the rules and regulations of WP when a blocked user says Plzzzzz so the other user also plzzzz so it doesn't mean that the user is sock puppet of blocked user i said that i'm interested contributor in wikipedia please don't make WP such a website that any one should hate this web and due to contribution of David1217 I'm slowly slowly hating it I just wanted make the Article Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai short therefore i kept a seprate article and I didn't know that in WP once an article is created by a banned user so after that users are not allowed to recreate, Thank you ToMaS786 (talk) 16:26, 8 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
ToMaS786 blocked. For what it's worth, the rules are very simple. Use one account, and one account only. Do not use multiple accounts to evade scrutiny or slant consensus. WilliamH (talk) 16:41, 8 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

My suspicions begun when 182.183.130.172 (no edits except on Greatuser's talk page) gave Greatuser a barnstar for their contributions to List of awards and nominations received by Vidya Balan - after Greatuser made the prose worse and there are now even more issues. Another barnstar was awarded to Greatuser for their contributions to Bade Achhe Lagte Hain, many of which have been reverted (basically all but the most recent). The latter was awarded by Great Ali Hussain, a new account (made today) with five contributions. I would like a checkuser to see if these are Greatuser. I am very suspicious about this due to the fact that many of the edits were reverted, but also the very poor quality of the prose in the edits. Suspicion. The first action of the newly created account Great Ali Hussain was to post a barnstar to Greatuser's talk page, itself created just a day before [1]. Name similarity adds to suspicion. Note: Greatuser edited as Great User until a few days ago. kashmiri 19:59, 9 January 2013 (UTC) kashmiri 19:59, 9 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Comment: Greatuser claims to be from India on his talk page while 182.183.130.172 is a Pakistani IP address.[2] Knowing the realities of the Subcontinent, that alone would preclude these two have anything in common. Hope this helps. kashmiri 21:19, 9 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

These three IPs are obvious sockpuppets of Greatuser; same editing style and target articles. More damningly, he's posting unblock requests to User talk:Greatuser using two of them in order to evade the no-talk-page block of that account. The IPs are in the same range as the one previously reported here (182.183.130.172 (talk · contribs · WHOIS)). Presumably these are dynamic IPs; is the whole range quiet enough for a block? Psychonaut (talk) 08:45, 4 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Also of note: in a recent edit the IP accounts claim to operate User:Greatuser and User:Thomas.young234 but not User:Ali Mohammad Khilji. —Psychonaut (talk) 08:57, 4 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Comment: : What's wrong in posting unblock requests to own Talk page? Are you really suggesting blocking an entire ISP in India for that? As long as the editor is not vandalising Wikipedia articles, I would suggest to end witchhunting.

As to his "two identities" claim, I recall he has claimed this before (can't trace this down right now) and it seemed plausible to me (an Indian would hardly ever take up publicly a Pakistani identity, and vice versa). However, checkuser confirmed that these were indeed socks. kashmiri 11:29, 4 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

No, I am not suggesting an entire ISP be blocked. I was asking whether the particular range of dynamic IPs he is using is narrow enough that he can be blocked without causing collateral damage. The answer, in this case, appears to be "no". —Psychonaut (talk) 11:35, 4 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • I have put their favorite page on pending changes for three months, but other than that, there is little that can be done. He doesn't use any one IP for very long, and the IP range is too vast to range block. Someguy1221 (talk) 09:01, 4 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  1. I read the prior history about FrB.TG (talk · contribs) at the archive of Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Pks1142.
  2. But something more suspicious was found when I looked through the prior talk page history for List of awards and nominations received by Vidya Balan.
  3. The prior nominations for List of awards and nominations received by Vidya Balan, including a peer review and other discussions, were nominated by Greatuser (talk · contribs), another blocked sock belonging to this sockfarm: Category:Wikipedia sockpuppets of Ali Mohammad Khilji.
  4. More case history and evidence listed at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Ali Mohammad Khilji/Archive.
  5. Multiple similarities to Greatuser (talk · contribs) discussed at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Pks1142/Archive.

Thank you, — Cirt (talk) 17:10, 7 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Addendum, similar userpages
  1. Compare the userpage of FrB.TG (talk · contribs) with the userpage of Krimuk90 (talk · contribs).
  2. Both use the file of File:Lichtcharakter Bornrif.gif prominently on the top left of their userpages.
  3. Smarojit (talk · contribs) redirects to Krimuk90 (talk · contribs).
  4. Krimuk90 (talk · contribs) was a contributor to article Vidya Balan.
  5. Starting to become concerned there is a sockfarm online here tied to Vidya Balan somehow.

I saw that, Baffle gab1978, thank you, however that is why it was not necessary to request Checkuser in this case. Rather, it seems there is strong evidence to warrant a look with regards to sockpuppetting of the type of variety including meatpuppetting and/or possible proxy usage. This all appears rather vague and speculative to me.

  • I agree that it's unlikely that FrB.TG was new to Wikipedia, his first edit summary "working on the list to nominate for FLC" is not something a new user would ever write.
  • The apparent connection to the Prashant! account seems the strongest to me, but not conclusive in my opinion. I also note that the disruption block does not appear to have been foreseeable, I don't see how that could have been motivation to create a sock account.
  • People do copy each others signatures and user pages.

I don't see that there is sufficient indication to connect the four accounts here. Since nobody has shown that FrB.TG behaved disruptively I'm not going to look into this any longer, and seeing that nobody touched this case in three weeks I'm apparently not alone with that assessment. I do wish however that FrB.TG would tell us about his prior history. Amalthea 13:48, 29 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, thank you. I'll respectfully defer to your judgment, Amalthea. Thank you for your evaluation. Cheers, — Cirt (talk) 13:54, 29 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Earlier, he also created List of awards received by Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai which was deleted then he move on with change in title and recreated as List of accolades received by Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. Same thing done with List of awards received by Hina Khan (actress) and after its deletion he again recreates as List of awards and nominations received by Hina Khan and the page is mostly unsourced with hoax awards. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 196.195.57.41 (talk) 19:27, 20 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
