The Tennessee, Kentucky & Northern Railroad Company, hereinafter called the carrier, owns no road or equipment except five roadway machines and one passenger-train car. It operates under lease the entire railroad property owned by a lessor, described in the following paragraph.
The railroad of the Cincinnati, Nashville, Southern Railway Company is a single-track standard-gauge steam railroad, located in northern Tennessee. It consists of a main line extending from Algood, northeasterly to Livingston, a distance of 17.102 miles. The company also owns 2.221 miles of yard tracks and sidings. Its road thus embraces 19.323 miles of all tracks owned but not used, leased to the carrier.

The owned mileage of the Cincinnati, Nashville, Southern Railway Company, 17.102 miles, was all acquired by purchase, after foreclosure proceedings, from the Overton County Railroad Company. It was constructed by that company during the period from about 1905 to 1906. The records reviewed do not indicate that the Livingston Terminal Company, the other predecessor, constructed any main-line mileage, but that it constructed certain yard tracks and sidings and a freight and passenger station at Livingston, Tenn.
