Please update the page with the list below (current as of August 8, 2003). -- User:Docu

Done. Angela 19:57, 14 Aug 2003 (UTC)

Currently the page is written in HTML using > and < so it looks like you're reading the source. Is there a reason it's this way? -- General Wesc 01:26, 1 Sep 2003 (UTC)

Yes there is a reason; this page is feeding the Special:Shortpages feature. There is an edited version at Wikipedia:Shortpages. Angela 01:30, 1 Sep 2003 (UTC)

Docu - why did you replace my Wiki-redirect with that broken html link? →Raul654 18:24, Feb 17, 2004 (UTC)

The only purpose of this page is to serve as the lower section of Special:Shortpages when the feature is disabled (i.e. always). If the redirect you made showed up as #redirect [[Wikipedia:Shortpages]] on that page -- User:Docu

Wikipedia:Short articles and Wikipedia:Long articles are now updated thanks to User:Docu. Angela 19:59, 14 Aug 2003 (UTC)
Thank you for updating them. For the content of
it needs to include the HTML I had provided on Wikipedia talk:Short articles and Wikipedia talk:Long articles. I'd be glad if you could add this as well.--User:Docu
Sorry, I didn't realise it worked like that. They should be there now. Angela
Especially for the short articles-list, it might be preferable to have Special:Shortpages redirect to a page that can regularly be edited, as you just did with Wikipedia:Short articles (e.g. Wikipedia:Shortpages ). Most of entries are likely to be deleted (what can't be seen on Special:Shortpages) or redirected. -- User:Docu
There is now an Edited short articles page which is an edited version of the official Special:Shortpages. Deleted pages will show up as such, and the page can be edited by non-sysops to show when pages have been identified as redirects etc. Angela
Wikipedia:Longpages and Wikipedia:Shortpages have also been created. On Wikipedia:Long articles something like, e.g.
See <a href='/wiki/Wikipedia:Longpages' class='internal'>Wikipedia:Longpages</a>
(or Edited short articles) might be sufficient. -- User:Docu

I removed the edited short articles as it didn't seem useful with this one as well. A copy of it can be found in the history of the short articles page. Angela 23:34, 14 Aug 2003 (UTC)

I told this on the village pump but here again for completeness sake: I have written a Perl script that can be run on the server in a few minutes which parses the SQL dump file and produces 5 reports in two versions each (html and wiki format): Shortest/Longest/Most Wanted/ Wikipedia:Most Referenced Articles and Wikipedia:Orphaned Articles. The files were made available at the village pump but probably overlooked. I will ask Brion Vibber to run the script after the dumps have been made. Erik Zachte 23:55, 14 Aug 2003 (UTC)

Interesting page, the Wikipedia:Most Referenced Articles ! Indeed, it would be nice if this could be done by script once in a while (without slowing down http://www.wikipedia.org/ ). Other candidates for regular updates could be: Wikipedia:Utilities#To_Do_lists

Removing pages from Shortpages

I upgraded two pages listed on the site into workable stubs. Should I delete them from the Shortpages page? Or is that verboten? CharlieZeb 00:19, 4 May 2004 (UTC)

You should definitely remove them if you feel they are no longer short pages. It helps people to see which ones have already been done, and when a new list needs to be generated. I've added this instruction to the page now. Angela. 01:06, May 4, 2004 (UTC)

Creating editable list of short pages

I have created 4 pages of short pages with 500 entries each. So it can be edited and all articles that are done could be removed. I hope it will help to clean up the short pages. Renata3 20:59, 14 October 2005 (UTC)
