Luis Eduardo Contreras (born April 29, 1996) is a Venezuelan professional baseball pitcher for the Houston Astros of Major League Baseball (MLB).

Career[edit]

Contreras started his career in the United Shore Professional Baseball League in 2019. He signed a minor league contract with the Milwaukee Brewers in June 2019.[1] He pitched in the Brewers organization until 2023.

Contreras signed a minor league contract with the Houston Astros in November 2023.[2] He was called up to the majors for the first time on June 16, 2024. On June 21, Contreras was optioned back to Triple–A, without having appeared for the Astros.[3] The following day, he was recalled back to the major leagues.[4] He made his MLB debut on June 23.
