The 1994 Fort Lauderdale Strikers season was the team's fifth and final year competing in the American Professional Soccer League (APSL), and it marked the club's twenty-eighth overall season in professional soccer. That year, the Strikers finished in fifth place in the regular season standings, failing to qualify for the playoffs. Financial difficulties and organizational changes across the league contributed to a difficult season for the team.
Following the conclusion of the 1994 season, the Strikers ceased operations in the APSL. However, the club did not dissolve entirely. Instead, they merged with the Fort Lauderdale Kicks, a team competing in the United States Interregional Soccer League (USISL), a developing league that played a pivotal role in the growth of soccer in the United States during the mid-1990s. This merger allowed for the formation of a new Strikers team, which competed in the 1995 USISL Professional League.
