Abronia ochoterenai, Ochoterena's arboreal alligator lizard or Northern Chiapas arboreal alligator lizard, is a species of arboreal alligator lizard in the family Anguidae. The species, which is native to extreme southern Mexico, was described in 1939 by Rafael Martín del Campo.
Etymology
[edit]The specific name, ochoterenai, is in honor of Mexican biologist Isaac Ochoterena Mendieta.[4]
Geographic range
[edit]A. ochoterenai is endemic to the Mexican state of Chiapas, where it is found at elevations of 1,800–2,300 m (5,900–7,500 ft).[3][5]
Reproduction
[edit]A. ochoterenai is viviparous.[3]
