Antonio Raimondo (born 18 March 2004) is a professional Italian footballer who plays as a centre-forward for Serie A club Venezia, on loan from Bologna.
Club career
[edit]Raimondo played football in the academy of Cesena, before joining Bologna in 2018.[1] The striker signed his first professional contract with the Felsinei in December 2020.[2] Having come through the club's youth ranks, he made his professional debut with the first team on 17 May 2021, coming on as a substitute for Rodrigo Palacio in the injury time of a 2–2 Serie A draw with Hellas Verona.[2][3]
Raimondo made his first senior start on 21 May 2022, playing 75 minutes of the last league game of the season against Genoa, which ended in a 1–0 win for Bologna.[4] At the end of the campaign, the club's manager Siniša Mihajlović announced that the forward would be officially promoted to the first team starting from the 2022–23 season, together with Wisdom Amey, Riccardo Stivanello and Kacper Urbański.[5]
On 10 August 2023, Raimondo joined Serie B club Ternana on loan until the end of the season.[6] On 27 August, he scored his first professional goal in a 2–1 league loss to Catanzaro.[7]
On 8 August 2024, Raimondo joined newly-promoted Venezia on loan.[8]
International career
[edit]Raimondo is a youth international for Italy, having represented the under-18[9] and under-19 national teams.[10]
He was included in the under-18 squad that took part in the 2022 Mediterranean Games in Oran, Algeria.[11] Having scored six goals in five matches, the striker was one of the most notable performers in the Azzurrini's campaign,[9] as Italy eventually won the silver medal following a 1–0 loss to France in the final match.[12]
