BKSP Public School and College (Bengali: বিকেএসপি পাবলিক স্কুল ও কলেজ) is an educational institution located on the outskirts of Dhaka, Bangladesh. It was established in 1987 by the BKSP authority to provide general education to the children of its staff and the residents of the surrounding areas.[1][2][3][4][5]
History
[edit]BKSP Public School & College is an educational institution established by BKSP on January 1, 1987, located within the BKSP campus. The institution operates under the management of a special committee formed in accordance with Article 49. Initially, in the 1987 academic year, it offered education from classes I to V. Over time, it expanded to include classes VI to VIII, followed by classes IX and X, and eventually classes XI and XII were introduced in 2023. The school received MPO (Monthly Pay Order) approval at the lower secondary level on October 1, 1994, and at the secondary level on March 30, 2009. It is managed by senior military officers of the Bangladesh Army, with its head typically being a former officer of the Bangladesh Army.[3][6][7][8]
Campus
[edit]The campus is located in Zirani Bazar, Savar, Dhaka, Bangladesh, and falls under the jurisdiction of the Dhaka Education Board. It includes a six-story academic building and additional tin-shaded classrooms. A new six-story building is under construction, with three stories currently completed and used for college section classes. The campus also has a canteen, a playground, cold drinking water facilities, and other basic amenities to support students’ academic and extracurricular activities.[9]
The school was once featured in Tiffiner Faakey, a popular program on NTV (Bangladeshi TV channel) that highlighted the activities and achievements of educational institutions across Bangladesh.[1]
