Bova is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics.

Publication history

Bova first appeared in Giant-Size Avengers #1 (August 1974), and was created by writer Roy Thomas and artist Rich Buckler.

Fictional character biography

Bova is an anthropomorphic cattle and member of the New Men who was created by the High Evolutionary.[1] After the High Evolutionary leaves Earth, Bova and some of the New Men remain behind, with her becoming a caretaker and foster mother to the other New Men, Pietro and Wanda Maximoff, Modred, and Jessica Drew / Spider-Woman at various points.[1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8] She is later killed by the High Evolutionary amidst the Celestials' arrival on Earth.[9]

Powers and abilities

As a cattle, Bova possesses physical abilities superior to that of a human. She is additionally a skilled nurse and caretaker who has fostered several superheroes.

Bova appears in the X-Men: The Animated Series episode "Family Ties", voiced by Shirley Douglas.[10]
