- Aldabra or the Outer Islands (Seychelles), including the Southern Coral Group, Amirante Islands, Alphonse Group, Aldabra Group, and the Farquhar Group
- the Chagos Archipelago
- the Comoros (including Mayotte)
- Mauritius
- the Mozambique Channel Islands
- Madagascar
- Réunion
- Rodrigues
- the Seychelles
- Native taxa of the lowest rank are included if they occur widely in the region, otherwise they should be included in the lichens of one or more of the constituent areas. Higher taxa are included only if endemic.
