Wine Regions

[edit]

Germany has 13 Wine regions that are listed here: German_wine#Regions.

Quality wine is rated wine depending on quality standards and the oechsle scale. while there are other regions where wine is growing and wine is made, is is NOT quality wine, its landwein - however this is translated; it is the lowest end of the scale or in other words it is more of a vinegar.

This list is not an enumeration of areas where one or two farmers have some vines in the dirt, it is a list of regions that have a history and a culture of growing wine and should therefore not be diluted.

Personally i think it should be a list with the 13 known wine growing regions that are easy to identificate by a (region) or maybe (winegrowing region) behind its names and the routes like sächsische weinstrasse (should be translated into saxony (?) wine route) that traverse these areas.

All other areas where vine is growing should fit into another category (if its needed) where it is clearly noticeable that they don`t fulfill the standards for being a (quality) wine growing area. Palatinate (talk) 16:03, 29 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
