Neopetaliidae Tillyard & Fraser, 1940

The oldest known fossil member of Cordulegastroidea is the family Araripechlorogomphidae (containing only Araripechlorogomphus) from the late Aptian of Brazil, which is thought to be related to the Chlorogomphidae.^[2]
