Dont'e Thornton is an American football wide receiver for the Tennessee Volunteers. He previously played for the Oregon Ducks.
Early life and high school
[edit]Thornton attended Mount Saint Joseph High School located in Baltimore, Maryland. Coming out of high school, Thornton was rated as a four-star recruit, where he decided to commit to play for the Oregon Ducks.[1][2]
College career

[edit]During Thornton's first collegiate season with the Ducks in 2021, he notched nine receptions for 175 yards and two touchdowns.[3] In the 2022 season, Thornton appeared in eleven games for the Ducks with five starts, where he hauled in 17 receptions for 366 yards and a touchdown.[4] After the conclusion of the 2022 season, Thornton decided to enter his name into the NCAA transfer portal.[5][6]
Tennessee
[edit]Thornton decided to transfer to play for the Tennessee Volunteers.[7][8] In week eleven of the 2023 season, Thornton hauled in a 46 yard touchdown but would suffer a season ending injury on the play versus the Missouri Tigers.[9] During Thornton's first season with the Volunteers in 2023, he hauled in 13 receptions for 224 yards and one touchdown.[10] In week one of the 2024 season, Thornton hauled in three receptions for 105 yards and two touchdowns in a season oppening win over the Chattanooga Mocs.[11] In week eleven, Thornton hauled in three receptions for 104 yards and a touchdown, as he helped the Volunteers to a win over the Mississippi State Bulldogs.[12]
