Abhishek Reddy Kankanala is a businessman and entrepreneur who currently serves as the Chairman of the Kankanala Sports Group[1] and DevPixel, a private IT firm. Abhishek Reddy currently serves as the principal owner of INDE Racing, Hyderabad Black Hawks and the Telugu Talons. He is also a co-owner of the Bengaluru Raptors in the Premier Badminton League. In 2021, he co-founded Whizzy, a delivery logistics company that connects human riders with hyperlocals in 16 cities all over India.
Kankanala Sports Group[edit]
Abhishek Reddy Kankanala became the chairman of the Kankanala Sports Group in 2023, a Hyderabad based sports management firm dedicated to developing sports at the grassroots level in India. In January 2024, Kankanala Sports Group entered into a nine-year exclusive partnership with FIM to host races in India.[2][3]
Hyderabad Black Hawks[edit]
Abhishek Reddy Kankanala is currently the principal owner of the Hyderabad Black Hawks.[4] Vijay Devarakonda later joined as a co-owner, purchasing a minority stake in the franchise.[5] Ahead of the 2024 season of the Prime Volleyball League, Abhishek Reddy Kankanala stated the importance of hosting the VD Black Hawks Open '24, highlighting it's importance toward developing volleyball at the grassroots level in the Telugu speaking states.[6]
INDE Racing[edit]
In January 2024, Abhishek Reddy Kankanala officially announced the launch of INDE Racing, an e-motocross racing team that competes in the FIM E-Xplorer World Cup.[7] INDE Racing is India's only representative team at the competition and is also India's first-ever FIM licensed team.[8] They also became the first Indian team to record a podium finish in the FIM E-Xplorer World Cup, when they finished third in Osaka.[9]
INDE Racing also took part in a historic collaboration between FIM and Formula-E that saw them demonstrate their EV technology at the Misano E-Prix.[10]
Telugu Talons[edit]
The Telugu Talons are a professional men's handball team competing in the Premier Handball League. The team officially represents the Telugu community in the Premier Handball League.[11] The Telugu Talons announced that they would compete in the inaugural season with Abhishek Reddy stating a desire to providing a platform to young athletes.[12]
Whizzy[edit]
Whizzy is a delivery logistics company that connects delivery riders to hyperlocals across 16 cities in India. [13] In 2021, Abhishek Reddy Kankanala co-founded Whizzy.
