Darren Kitchen is an entrepreneur, author, and cybersecurity expert. He is best known for being the founder of Hak5, an American technology company that produces offensive security products for ethical hackers and creates educational cybersecurity content.

Darren Kitchen was born in the United States. He developed a lifelong passion for technology through programming and phone phreaking.

Career

In 2005, Darren Kitchen founded Hak5, a company that provides tools and education for ethical hackers and cybersecurity practitioners. Initially launched as the self-titled podcast covering open-source software, network infrastructure, and penetration testing has now expanded to include the other shows HakTip, ThreatWire, Metasploit Minute, and TekThing. Hak5 also expanded to offer hardware such as the USB Rubber Ducky and the WIFI Pineapple which have shown in mainstream shows like USA Network's Mr. Robot and HBO's Silicon Valley.

Through Kitchen's work with Hak5 he has become a prominent figure in the cybersecurity industry and has used his position in the industry to continue to advocate for importance of cybersecurity through talks at cybersecurity conferences and his online platforms.
