Draft:Form OM-2087/G5

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Newest version of the form.

Form OM-2087/G5, colloquially known as the white card, is a mandatory document that travelers to Argentina were required to complete before entering the country via sea or air. This form played a crucial role in immigration procedures and customs control, ensuring that the Argentine government could efficiently manage and monitor incoming visitors.[1]

Issuance

[edit]

The responsibility of issuing Form OM-2087/G5 lies with the Federal Administration of Public Revenues (AFIP). AFIP processes entries and exits at ports of entry, including sea and air terminals, as well as deferred inspection sites. This agency ensures that all necessary documentation is properly distributed, completed, and collected from incoming travelers.

Later, it was "Revamped" in a update.[2][3]

As part of the Federal Administration of Public Revenues' (AFIP) plan to digitalize the declaration of personal items entering the country through Ministro Pistarini International Airport, the General Directorate of Customs announced that airlines will no longer distribute Form OM-2087/G5 to passengers arriving at Ezeiza.

Travelers now have the option to complete the form using the Viajeros app and the kiosks located in the airport's arrivals area, according to an official statement. Additionally, passengers can still fill out the form in paper format in the same area. It is important to note that travelers exceeding the duty-free allowance of USD 500 per adult and USD 250 per minor (up to 16 years old) are still required to complete the form.

Since the previous year, travelers have been allowed to bring a cell phone and a tablet or a laptop as part of their personal luggage without paying any duty, as reminded by the tax authority.[4]
