Draft:Glenn Fiedler

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
  • Comment: It seems you might have a better shot at having an article for Network Next being published given the sources provide more information and coverage for the startup not the developer. Your choice, but I'm still declining this draft. Also, external links in the body of the draft must be removed. ABG (Talk/Report any mistakes here) 01:02, 22 December 2024 (UTC)

Criticism of The Division

[edit]

In 2016, Fiedler wrote a blog post critical of the netcode of The Division in response to rampant cheating post launch, claiming that the cheating was the result of a "trusted client network model" and may require a complete rewrite of the netcode to fix. This criticism was picked up by a number of news sites, including The Guardian[6][7][8][9][10]

Network Next

[edit]

Glenn Fiedler is the founder of Network Next, an internet startup aiming to fix high latency and packet loss for multiplayer games by creating a neutral marketplace for premium network traffic[11]. Network Next raised 4.4 million USD for its seed round in 2019 from investors Bitkraft, Bain Capital Ventures, Velo Capital Partners, and Psyonix[12]. Later that year, Fiedler moved the startup from Los Angeles to Troy, New York[13][14], citing lower cost of living and higher quality of life for employees.
