Gumn is a 2023 Pakistani thriller television series, directed by Sarmad Sultan Khoosat and written by Tooba Siddiqui and Hamza Kazi. It is produced by Evolution Media Productions in association with Multiverse Entertainment. The cast includes Tooba Siddiqui and Feroze Qadri in titular roles. The series premiered on 16 October 2023 on Green Entertainment. Gumn revolves around two individuals, Maya, a lawyer by profession and Rayyan, a medical student whose sister is murdered, leading Maya and Rayyan together into a web of crimes, revenge, deceit and suspense.[2]
Synopsis[edit]
Maya, a successful lawyer who finds herself in a fix when she accidentally hits a young man, Rayyan, while driving. Rayyan winds up with amnesia and cannot remember much about his life. While Rayyan slowly works towards unveiling his past, Rayyan and Maya grow closer, developing an attraction. However, when Rayyan's past is revealed, Maya finds out that her father has a direct link to Rayyan and was involved in his sister's murder case.

- Tooba Siddiqui as Maya Malik - a top criminal lawyer who rains rattled by her father's murder and is doing everything in her power to get to the bottom of things. She accidentally hits Rayyan while driving, unaware he has a link with her father who was involved in Rayyan's sister murder.
- Feroz Qadri as Rayyan Baig - a medical student but after not getting justice for his sister's murder on a mission to avenge her death.
- Furqan Qureshi as Shahid - a mysterious character, Maya's colleague who protects and stands by her side.[3]
- Zara Tareen as Sara - Maya's sister.
- Sohail Sameer as Jahanzaib Mirza - an inspector in charge of murders and cases related to Maya and Rayyan.
- Agha Mustafa Hassan as Sameer - Maya's rival colleague and her lover.
- Kashif Hussain as Mehmood - a gun man hired by Shakir for target killing, aims to murder Rayyan.
- Daniyal Khan as Ali - Maya's assistant, Anusha's love interest.
- Anusha Khalid as Maryam - Maya's assistant, Ali's love interest.
- Syed Mohammed Ahmed as Sohail Baig - Rayyan and Hania's father, who took care of them after the death of their mother.
- Srha Asghar as Hania Sohail - Rayyan's sister who gets murdered.
- Behroze Sabzwari as Ahsan Malik - Maya and Sara's father, involved in abetting Shakir and Hameed in their crimes.
- Sudhir Vaswani as Hameed Hussain - Shakir's son who murders Hania along with the help of his friends.
- Hashim Butt as Mir Sikandar - a senior lawyer, owner of the firm where Ahsan, Maya, Shahid, Sameer, Ali, Anusha and Salman work.
- Usman Peerzada as Shakir Hussain - a corrupt and influential politician, Hameed's father.
- Fawad Jalal as Taimoor - Sara's husband.
- Shuja Asad as Imad - Rayyan's college friend.
- Nabeel Jafri as Daniyal Siddiqui - Hania and Hameed's friend and accomplice in Hania's murder.
- Haseeb Javed as Imran Masood - Hameed's friend and accomplice in Hania's murder.
- Jahanzaib Naviwala as Asher - Hameed's friend and accomplice in Hania's murder.
- Fawad Khan as Salman Saeed - a journalist who wanted to expose Shakir and his son's crimes but got murdered.

Production[edit]
In April 2021, it was announced that, Khoosat will direct a thirteen episodes series titled as "Gumn" written and produced by Tooba Siddiqui starring herself and Furqan Qureshi in prominent roles. It was speculated that the series will air on a newly launched channel Green Entertainment and soon after its launch in 2023 it was aired on Green Entertainment airing episodes twice a week, ending its run on 28 November 2023.
Reception[edit]
The critics praised Gumn for its mysterious plot and thrill.Qadri and Siddiqui's performances were praised by the audience. "Niche" praised the portrayal of Maya's character, the element of twist and turn along with emotions submerged in a crime thriller among the main lead couple. Maliha Rehman former journalist from DAWN points out the serial for wrapping up the story concisely while maintaining the element of unpredictability, calling it a must-watch.Youlin Magazine also appreciated the series for its camera work, production quality and editing. "Gumn" generated an overall positive response from the critics and audiences, making it a success in the Pakistani thriller genre.
