Kate Hope Day is an American writer. She is the author of In the Quick (2022)[1] and If, Then (2019)[2]. Her nonfiction has been published in LitHub and The New York Times. She received her BA from Bryn Mawr College and her PhD in English from the University of Pittsburgh. She previously worked as an associate producer at HBO and currently lives in Oregon with her husband and children.

If, Then was named an IndieBound Indie Next pick in March 2019[3] and received a starred review in Publishers Weekly[4].

In the Quick was a Good Morning America Buzz Pick in March 2021[5] and was reviewed favorably in Booklist and Library Journal. At Bookreporter, Rebecca Munro wrote of In the Quick that "...this stunning exploration of the potential of humans and their inventions will challenge everything you thought you knew about good science fiction."[6]
